LIVERMORE, Calif., March 8, 2007 ― Puronics, Incorporated has established the Walter Polens Award to recognize its dealers for providing outstanding customer service. A leading water technology company headquartered in Livermore, Calif., Puronics acquired the Ionics Consumer Water Group in January 2006.
The Walter Polens Award was created to honor the memory of Ionics’ co-founder, who died four years ago at the age of 81. In addition to starting Ionics in 1947, he was a past president of the Water Quality Association, as well as a board member of the Water Quality Research Council. The award will be given annually to the dealers that demonstrate the highest regard for the customer experience.
“Walt knew how important it was to have a strong network of talented and professional dealers to support our products,” said Scott Batiste, current chairman and CEO of Puronics. “He would be proud of the work being done by these outstanding dealers.”
Puronics makes a broad range of water treatment products for homes and businesses using technologies such as water conditioning, filtering, micro-filtration, ultra filtration, bacteriostatic carbon filtration, reverse osmosis and ultra violet disinfection.
“Puronics offers unique products, like the only stainless steel system that both meets NSF standards and uses bacteriostatic technology to inhibit bacteria growth,” said Batiste. “But we also have terrific customer support. This award is about recognizing the best of the best.”
