Livermore, California, May 10 , 2006 -- Puronics, Incorporated today announced that it has acquired the Ionics Consumer Water Group from GE Water & Process Technologies, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE). The Puronics Consumer Water Group is a U.S.-based manufacturer of home and commercial water treatment products. GE acquired the Ionics Consumer Water Group through it’s acquisition of Ionics, Inc in 2005. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Known for its innovation, product quality and design, Ionics Consumer Water Group offers some of the most technically advanced water treatment products on the market and has strong retail distribution for its products. Puronics is a leading consumer water brand in North America. The transaction does not impact GE’s marketing of ultrapure water services for desalination, water reuse and & recycling and industrial applications.
